Sowmiya Rani holds a PhD in Biotechnology and started her career as an Editor and Speaker. She is the recipient of research fellowships such as CSIR-JRF, DBT-JRF, JNCASR summer research fellowship, and DAAD scholarship for PhD scholars that enabled her do a part of her PhD in Germany. Her expertise is in the area of scientific/medical writing and publishing, and she is a well-known speaker/ trainer for harnessing AI tools for research and Higher Ed, internationally. Her lectures have reached audiences at more than 100 institutions, majorly within India, from Medical colleges to Engineering, Arts & science, Social sciences, Law, Architecture, Management Institutions, & Industry audiences. Her workshops introduce the latest AI tools and their upgrades that can be leveraged ethically in academic/research writing & publishing and improving teaching & learning experiences in Higher Ed. One of her recent pet projects are webinars that train the trainers/teachers to speak/present better. Her flagship 10-day online workshops that happen twice a year are much sought after, and her start-up “Sowmis_AWW” assists researchers write and publish better manuscripts through proofreading, rewriting, formatting, and other services.
