The TWCF Advocacy & Amplification Course is the premiere online training program for professionals seeking to become thought leaders by expanding their skills in effective social media use for researchers, identifying and collaborating with journalists, and publishing policy briefs, blog posts, and digital newsletter articles. Hosted on HigherEd+’s groundbreaking and user-friendly platform, this course is taught by experts from prominent institutions across the globe (e.g., Cambridge, UPenn, NASA). Carefully designed to meet evidence-based best practices in eLearning and journalology, past participants have significantly increased the digital footprint of their research as well as their international reputation for scholarly excellence. Filled with step-by-step AI tutorials, time-saving templates, real-world examples, engaging exercises, and up-to-date research, this fun and insightful program is not to be missed!
As part of the TWCF Advocacy & Amplification Course, participants will be expected to: (1) prepare and present to the class one blog post manuscript, (2) make at least one research-related post each week on their social media platform of choice, and (3) make contact with at least one journalist (TV, radio, or print). Detailed and step-by-step instructions will be provided, with ongoing support on how to successfully accomplish these three activities.
The TWCF Advocacy & Amplification Course is offered in two versions: High Touch and Low Touch. The High Touch version is a hybrid program comprised of 6 On Demand video modules and 6 Live Webinars, during which guest speakers will appear and the latest AI tools will be tutorialed. Grantees unable to consistently attend Live Webinars on the dates and times listed below can instead apply for the Low Touch version of the course which consists exclusively of the 6 On Demand video modules (questions can still be asked via e-mail).
